WEATHER UPDATE

Appropriately enough our convention topic is “Resolve.” And it’s about the architects’ response to hurricanes. Our local architects assure us that we are expecting rain and, while no one can be certain about the path of a weather pattern, Tropical Storm Barry appears to be headed for New Orleans. We are proceeding with convention. Please understand that we are not able to offer refunds. Our rain plans are currently as follows:
  • Bus Tour: will commence as planned
  • Baseball Game: the Shuckers officials will make this choice. Currently will commence as planned.
  • Friday education, firm crawl & business meeting: will commence as planned (all indoors at the various venues)
  • Saturday education & youth camp: will commence as planned (all indoors at the MEC; CalOES  and camp enrollees should prepare to walk outside between buildings)
  • Saturday marsh/bayou tour: will almost certainly be cancelled
  • Saturday patio party: will be moved indoors to the MEC Conference Center
  • Sunday schooner sail: we are waiting to make a determination about the sail
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as your convention team works to implement our weather plans. We are still going to have a great time and know you will, too!
