  • TEDx Memphis Peabody Rooftop Party with Honored Guest, Robert Ivy, FAIA
    Gather at the roof for a lively evening! AIA Mississippi will celebrate Robert’s lifetime accomplishments at its Convention Rooftop Party. Join Robert and convention guests for a lively evening filled with engaging TEDx Memphis talk preliminaries. The Expo Bucks Auction is always a hit and this year we’re taking it to the ROOF for bidding. The Peabody boasts the city’s most spectacular view from its infamous rooftop deck.   • SpeakUp!  Advocacy & Action Event – Presented by AIA|National & TEDx Memphis
    AIA National has selected the 2018 AIA | Mississippi State Convention as its host for one of only two sites to host mini-conferences based on its previous national model. TEDx Memphis will join us to teach guests the techniques employed by TEDx presenters and offer attendees a chance to try their chops at an evening TEDx Memphis Talk preliminary for a chance to be invited back for their annual conference in January. Guests will learn about effective strategies to influence elected officials on important legislative policy and how their voices can make a difference. Hear from both state and federal representatives about how to express your opinions with the most impact. Youth participants will also learn about advocacy and how the young people of today can influence lawmakers.  Attendees will have an opportunity to earn a trip to Washington, D.C., to meet with their representatives and tour the many treasures of our nation’s Capitol!  Download the flyer.
  • CM-BIM Courses 1 and 2
    CM-BIM stands for Certificate of Management – Building Information Modeling. It is an assessment-based certificate credential hosted by the AGC. It is gaining traction, similar to the LEED movement in early 2000. Soon architectural firms, engineering companies and general contractors will need at least one person on their staff to be CM-BIM certified to work on federal projects; even state jobs. CM-BIM denotes knowledge and understanding of concepts related to BIM adoption, practice and process transformation outlined in the AGC BIM Education Program.   • Over 65 Continuing Education Units
    We welcome Mike Lydon, author and principal of New York-based firm, Street Plans, for a keynote session on Tactical Urbanism with a special look at its implementation in a transitional area of Memphis known as The Edge. With a great blend of inspirational, technical and pragmatic presentations, you’re sure to find plenty of ways to engage in our over 65 continuing education units (many of which are HSW).

    Grab your clubs and come a day early to enjoy a day on the course.
  • Memphis Architectural Bus Tour with Jimmy Ogle
    Our bus tour sells out every year and for a great reason: guests enjoy taking in the local architecture and hearing from the professionals who brought them to life.     Join us for a morning walk around downtown Memphis. Begin at the Peabody Hotel; end at the Civil Rights Museum

  • ARE 5.0 Test Prep with David Thaddeus
    Beloved structures seminar facilitator, David Thaddeus, joins us to offer a parallel program for licensure candidates. With two intense days of ARE 5.0 test prep content, you’ll likewise be invited to join us for other Convention amenities to relax after an intense day of education seasoned with David’s trademark humor and engagement. 
  • Youth Track! Including Architecture Camp, Zoo Snooze & SpeakUp! Youth Advocacy Seminar
    Kids of attendees (and others from the community, too) can learn more about the profession of architecture at this 2-day camp filled with a design/build project to fuel their imaginations (hosted in conjunction with Hope Church’s Go and Do weekend). To wrap up the second day, kids Snooze (spend the night) at the Memphis Zoo while parents enjoy the Peabody Rooftop party! On Saturday, our young participants are invited to take part in SpeakUp! Youth, a very timely and informative introduction to the world of advocacy. Download the flyer. 
  • RedBirds Baseball Game 
    The Memphis RedBirds baseball stadium, AutoZone Park, is right across the street from the Peabody Hotel and they’re in town playing ball against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox! The evening at the park makes a great family outing. 
  • Expo Hall
    AIA|Mississippi’s Allied Partners (MAPP) will have an expo hall setup in the Continental Ballroom with doors that open into the education room. Setup will occur all day Friday with the Expo Hall and events scheduled throughout the day on Saturday to coincide with the AIA|National SpeakUp! symposium, expected to attract guests from all across the region. The Hall will be open through the beginning of the Peabody Rooftop party and guests will be directed to the hall to receive complimentary drink tickets from vendors. The special convention rate of $189/night (+ taxes and fees) was available through June 19, 2018. The Peabody will honor this rate as long as occupancy meets certain standards so we encourage you to call. We count on guests to stay at our venue so we’re offering an additional 2 drink tickets at the Peabody Rooftop Party for each room booked. An exceptional hotel for an unbeatable rate – you can’t beat that!

Self-parking is $20.00 per car, per day for registered guests. Valet parking is $29 per car, per day.   Hourly rates will apply to non-registered guests. These prices are current and subject to change.
